A Message from Club President Michelle (Mickey) Knaus
Welcome to the Rotary Club of Green Bay, District 6220. Rotary is a worldwide organization comprised of professional , community, and business leaders. As Rotarians, we reach out to provide humanitarian services, believe in the importance of community service, give to charitable foundations, encourage student involvement in community service, ultimately, to provide goodwill and peace throughout the world.
Our motto is Service Above Self. Our Club has been influential in providing many local community services such as; the Men’s Closet, Poverty and Hunger Food drives in partnership with local businesses, and raise funds to give to local charitable foundations. Internationally, our Club is dedicated to global eradication of polio with the financial assistance of Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and last year our Club provided the means for a small village in Bolivia to start a bakery.
Rotary International’s theme this year is Building Communities – Bridging Continents. As Rotarians, we are challenged to continue to improve our clubs by becoming Bigger, Better, and Bolder in the year ahead to ensure the best of our Rotary Clubs, both local and international.
The Rotary Club of Green Bay will continue the 2009-2010 momentum and focus on four major goals for 2010-2011:
Through fellowship, community service and global services, we are Building Communities – Bridging Continents.
Yours in Rotary,
Mickey Knaus
President, 2010-2011
