Weekly Luncheons

With the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s recent announcement to donate an additional $255 million to RI’s efforts to eradicate (in addition to the initial $100 million), many Rotary Clubs are doing more and more to help match these grants with local/club fundraising efforts. The Rotary Club of Green Bay is holding an event on Wed., March 4 to help, including a show by Let Me Be Frank Productions and a silent auction (email joycemccollum@sbcglobal.net for tickets). Is this a worthwhile event or are the better/different options to raise dollars for polio?

The Rotary Foundation of Green Bay Inc. provided $4,450 to 5 local organizations during the first quarter of the 2008-09 year. Recipients and contributions included:

o         Green Bay Professional Firefighters Memorial: $250

o         Project Vote: $300

o         Bellin College of Nursing: $2,150

o         YMCA: $750

o         One Book/One Community: $1,000
